Acquisition of project inputs via audits of sector operators, service users, managers etc., bibliographic research, interviews and sector studies (provincial and regional waste management observatories, publications etc.)

Compiling and editing check lists for gathering qualitative and quantitative information for the assessment of services and equipment.

Determination of geographical and climatic working conditions and general geological, historical and environmental considerations.

Population analysis in terms of total size of static and floating populations and their social and residential characteristics and habits.

Evaluation of the quantity and quality of waste produced by category and in relation to circumstances that can change its composition (holidays, commercial developments, public events etc.)

Determination of the commodity content of waste through analysis of actual samples, determination of project parameters such as specific gravity, density etc., to enable assessment of recovery and reuse capabilities of waste materials.

Formulation of a plan for social evolution of the urban fabric in terms of anticipated expansion and development, cultural changes and the introduction of commercial activity.
